UNDERSTAND THE ARRANGEMENT
The practical care is ours.
The remembrance is yours.
Direct cremation is an individual cremation without family or friends attending the crematorium. You can arrange a separate gathering, or remember the person privately.
WHAT HAPPENS, STEP BY STEP
- 01
Start with a conversation
Tell us where the person is being cared for and who is making the arrangements. We explain the package, collection circumstances and any separate charges.
- 02
Agree collection and paperwork
We provide registration and document advice. Collection availability and any urgent or out-of-hours charges must be agreed before transfer.
- 03
Care and preparation
The service includes respectful care and preparation and a cotton shroud.
- 04
The individual cremation
The provider chooses the crematorium and time. Family and friends do not attend. Necessary documents and cleared funds are required before cremation.
- 05
Decide on the ashes
For our at-need packages, scattering in the crematorium grounds is free, or ashes can be returned for £50 including a scatter-tube urn. The separate £1,587 advance arrangement includes UK-mainland ashes return.
Paperwork and payment
We prepare the cremation application for the applicant to check and sign, and explain the documents needed for the circumstances. Where issued, the registrar’s Green Form is required; if the coroner is involved, the coroner’s cremation authority is sent directly to us.
Payment can be made by bank transfer or debit or credit card. The necessary documents and cleared funds are required before the cremation. We provide official payment receipts.
