Thank you and Gordon for making this whole process relatively sress free. You may get lots of enquiries from Spalding as so many people think the Direct Cremation service is a good idea but did not know of its existence.. I will of course be giving them your details..

Just dropping you a line to thank you for everything you have done. I could not have wished for more. Jasmine's ashes are here and we have had the largest party ever! I have been to the Good Funeral Awards nomination site and sang your praises for all to see. Again, thank you P

We chose you because of your clear straight to the point information. Having used this type of service for my father 5 weeks ago, we are holding a separate Thanks Giving Service for my mother as we simply Don’t want to stare at a coffin and this way the younger ones can attend. Thank you for your attention to details and contact throughout the whole service

Very happy indeed with the level of customer service received from Express-Cremations after the recent sad loss of my Mum. We decided that as Mum was 90 we wanted to concentrate our efforts on creating a celebration of her wonderful life, and not mourning her death. Following a hearse and having a crematorium service where everyone is staring at a coffin and then watching the curtains close was frankly not for us, but I found that undertakers in Harrogate would charge me for the hearse and all the pomp and ceremony that I didn't want even if didn't want those elements. There was no possibility to strip out the elements I did not want. Research on the web led me to Express Cremations as I wanted what seems to be called a "direct cremation" - we wanted Mum taken care of but we did not want to attend. Gordon and Alison were extremely helpful explaining the services available and arranged very quickly to have Mum picked up from York hospital and she was very simply cremated which was fine as we did not want to attend this part. I was also very happy that Mum could be cremated in a shroud rather than a coffin as it is a much more eco-friendly option and that is important to us. This all meant I did not need to worry about being forced to have the funeral service that I did not want for Mum, and we created instead a wonderful thanksgiving service in the village hall led by a vicar friend, and with lots of beautiful music, religious and non religious. She had been a member of the operatic society so we had members sing and had a keyboard player to play lots of songs from shows that she loved whilst we created a tearoom atmosphere (she loved afternoon tea) at the back of the hall after the service and we served up tea and lots of home-made cakes and scones. She would have loved this and lots of people said how upbeat this all was and how this unconventional approach was what they would like for themselves too. It was a celebration of her wonderful life, just as we wanted it to be. Tradition and convention and "being seen to do the right thing" force people down the route of having to accept in a time of grief what most funeral directors try to sell them - the full funeral package with hearses, limousines, pall bearers etc whether they want it or not. I am an assertive person who knows my mind and I know Mum would have loved what we did for her. It was a happy event, not a sad one, and I was so happy that Express Cremations handled the practical side of things so sensitively. They also arranged for me to collect the ashes directly from them at my convenience and the paperwork needed for me to be able to transport the ashes abroad as I want to spread them in Lake Geneva in a place she loved. If you don't want to be pushed into convention, use Express Cremations. We are so happy we found them and they were so lovely to deal with that it made something very difficult and stressful very simple. Many thanks.

Very many thanks for all the help you gave us last Friday I think we gave **** the quiet, dignified ceremony he would have liked. Your attention to detail was hugely appreciated, it is quite difficult for families to focus at times like this and the guidance you gave us meant the day ran smoothly.

M of Scotland commented: Good Morning Gordon, hope you are in good health. I just wanted to write and tell you about the lovely service that Patrick had yesterday. Fiona and Guy were so respectful and helpful, they are both a credit to you and the service you provide. I know Patrick is where he wanted to be and it is a beautiful place right next to a tree. I have to tell you that if it was not for you and your commitment to Patrick to respect his wishes then none of this would have happened. I will be eternally grateful to you for making this happen. Many thanks from me and all of my family. Merry xmas M

Dear Alison and Gordon I just want to express my appreciation for all that you have done. We have never met but the service you provided was nothing short of excellence. I had encountered quite a few problems concerning the death and cremation of S but as soon as you became involved you took over in the most sensitive, efficient and respectful way, taking an enormous amount of stress from my shoulders. You were always there on the end of the phone to give help and advice. Nothing was too much trouble. You kept me informed of everything that was being done. I would highly recommend you and would be more than happy for you to forward my contact details on to anyone feeling the need for reassurance. I send my very best wishes for your future and, once again THANK YOU
Please accept my grateful thanks to you both for the sympathetic and truly professional way you have shown in arranging everything so easily for me. I am very grateful to you both.

Thank you Alison. Your communication is great and very reassuring at a hugely difficult time. We found you and Gordon excellent 2 years ago for my Mum and did not hesitate to turn to you again now for Mike's mum who has died very suddenly. Many thanks indeed,
